Welcomed Makers.

Awesome group of makers from  Educator, Black Smith, Artist, Programmer, 3D Modeler, Inventor, Parents, Performing Artist

Topics of conversation:

  • 3D Printing/Modeling
    • The library continues to get great use out of the 3D printer. We’re doing one-on-one sessions on Saturdays, introduced the Teen club to 3D modeling, and much more. The 3D printer is getting so much use at the library that we’re going to have to come up with a scheduling system!
    • The demand for the 3D Printer has increased thus there are talks of implementing a scheduling system to reserve time allowing more patrons to access this tool.
  • Projects
    • Central Texas Maker collaborative project will be  “Rube Goldberg” type machine which will be displayed at the CCPL for the community to see and learn what cool things are happening at the library.Initially the group decided to have multiple parts that come together to make this project.  This allows each member to participate.
      • To participate you’ll need to do the following:
        • Draw your mini Rube Goldberg project idea
        • List the materials needed to make this happen.
        • Submit a photo of it to evelyn.nelson (at)
          • Evelyn will create a page showing your drawing and material list.  Use the comment section for discussion.
          • On the next Central Texas Maker Club meeting we’ll bring all ideas and start the process of making this project.
  • Saturday Seekers
    • This program has brought together a number of makers. We’ve worked on individual projects, brainstormed new ideas, and helped each other learn new skills.  We won’t be having as many of these weekends in May — since we’ll be planning future projects. Here is the upcoming schedule:
      • Evelyn will be available on the 14th of May, 2016
      • No Saturday Seekers on the 21st and 28th of May, 2016
  • Show & Tell
      • 3D printed custom LEGO projects.
      • Laser Etcher to etch custom poker chips.
      • An Arduino Nano controller for controlling servos, display, and IR remote as part of an Automated Microscope project learn more here.
