Ideas for a Rube Goldberg Project

  • 3D Printer:

Copperas Cove Public Library has available computers for designing 3D Models and a 3D printer for printing your design.
Tinercad.com has very good tutorials for learning to design 3D models and it’s an excellent site to explore existing 3D models which are available to download and 3D print.

  • Scratch: 

An easy way to learn programming by dragging and dropping the logic without diving into the syntax of the language being learned.  As stated on scratch website, “The ability to code computer programs is an important part of literacy in today’s society. When people learn to code in Scratch, they learn important strategies for solving problems, designing projects, and communicating ideas.”

Saturday Seekers

This program has brought together a number of makers. We’ve worked on individual projects, brainstormed new ideas, and helped each other learn new skills.  

ANNOUNCEMENT — In the month of October Saturday Seeker will be on the 8th and 22nd from 10am to noon.

Show & Tell

Thank you presenters.

MECATX members shows Drone, Makeblock mBot, and talks about how these devices are all programmable with the Arduino, and the C++ computer language.

Central Texas Member brought a mircocontrolled project that uses an Arduino to move the boat across the bay and once it reaches the other  side triggering a detector sensor causing a buzzing sound and lighting up the Light House which has an LED.  The 3D printed base houses all the electronic component and art work.
